Al Azim Mosque

The Al-Azim Mosque is the Melaka's state mosque. It is located next to the Malacca General Hospital in Melaka City, Malaysia. The Makam Pahlawan Negeri or State Heroes Mausoleum is situated near the mosque.HistoryThe mosque was constructed between 1989 and 1990. It was officially opened on 13 July 1990 by the ninth Yang di-Pertuan Agong, Sultan Azlan Shah of Perak. The mosque then obtained the state mosque title, replacing the former state mosque at Tranquerah Mosque.ArchitectureThe state mosque follows typical Malaccan mosque architecture in the Java-Malay style of the arhcipelago. The interior of the mosque also shows native influence and local Malaccan Malay architecture.
